Devil Rays Game

We went to the Devil Rays game on Sunday. We had enough tickets that we let each kid bring a friend. It was a lot of fun. Bill was getting into the music and we also went to the touch tank to pet the sting rays. The kids had their typical snack of Dippin' Dots in the sixth inning and the Devil Rays actually won the game.

Saxophone Boy!

Daniel really has wanted to play saxophone for a few years. Mr. Anderson, the band director, told Daniel that his requirement is for a student to play the clarinet for one year prior to playing the saxophone. Last year, Daniel played the clarinet and enjoyed it. He was so excited at the beginning of 4th grade because this was the year.
The band was smaller this year. Daniel was the only saxophone in the band. He did a beautiful job at the concert and even had a solo. We are going to be on the lookout for a saxophone this summer. Maybe someone will be trying to sell one at a garage sale. We might just get lucky.

Look What I Found!
Look what I found! Over at HOP they are having a National Scrapbooking Month celebration. We are having challenges every day. The challenge yesterday was to make a layout about toys. I can be about any kind of toy. My friend Dawn was talking all about her Crissy doll. I remembered that Kathy had a Crissy doll, BUT I had a Velvet doll. I remembered where I had them stored in the back closet and had Daniel pop a quick photo of me with Velvet AND a Dawn doll. Velvet is not in that great of shape. She has some greenish/blue on her face that I cannot get off. Not sure what it is, but I might do a little research to see if it can be removed.

Make a Girl Happy
Sarah is not generally thrilled about going to the Little League field to watch her brother play. She is, however, loving the sunflower seeds. A bag of them can keep her occupied for well over an hour! Sometimes she will even go buy a second bag! Definitely $1.00 well spent. Sarah's biggest problem with the seeds is the fact that her tongue usually gets all funny on the end from all the salt.

First Communion

Today was a special day. Our niece Allison received her First Communion! What a special day. The Mass was special, too. They had a Baptism for a baby, three Confirmations and seven children received their First Communions. The thing I thought was the neatest was the priest had our entire family circle around Allison as she received her Communion and then we each received after her. It truly made it a special family event. God Bless you, Allison!

New Hair?

So Daniel thought it would look cool to put this stretchy ball thingy on his head. I can't touch that thing because the sensation really creeps me out. It is sticky, stretchy, ick! Sarah decided to get her hair cut a week or so ago. She wanted layers cut into the sides like a lot of the older girls. I am not sure I like the layers in her eyes, but she is thrilled and she is actually more interested in working with her hair, so it is not such a bad thing.

Look at my Orchid Tree!!
This silly tree is pretty for only about two weeks of the year. Don't blink or you will miss this pretty sight. This is the tree that fell over during the awful 2005 hurricane season. We propped it back up and it is still staked and tied, but it is still alive. I think it is leaning a little more each year, but so far it has survived.

More from the beach. This was a nice day. It was a little overcast, but it was far from hot that day. We had fun watching the kids work on their skim boarding. Daniel practiced for at least 2 hours and Sarah, after watching her brother try so hard, thought she would give it a shot. She caught on really quickly.

We went to the beach over spring break and this is one of the photos of Daniel that I took. Maybe I'll add a few more, too. He likes these UV protection swim shirts to wear at the beach or in the pool. I like them too because we are having a better time with him allowing me to slather him up with sunscreen on his exposed areas. We don't have to do his back or belly with these shirts.

Hamster!!!

Okay, here she is. Oreo, that is. I am happy to announce that Miss Oreo has found a new home. Gabby is 'hamster sitting' for me so I don't kill little Miss Oreo. ( I kept forgetting about her)
What a smelly little thing and not too bright either. She pees and poops in the exercise wheel and then exercises! Eeewww!
Wicked!
Okay, this is for Susanne. I just haven't had the time or energy to continue with my blog. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants that I need. Here is a photo of the kids waiting for Wicked to start. We were all so excited to see it since we had been introduced to the music from the play starting last summer. Bill purchased the tickets for this play as a Christmas present for us and we had to wait almost 3 months to get our gift. What a gift it was! We had so much fun. Sarah bought a t-shirt and thanks to Susanne, we now have a Wicked Playbill. (silly folks at TBPAC had already changed the Playbill to 25th Annual Putanm county spelling bee)
