Thanksgiving

Bill decided that this was the year to finally use our turkey fryer. We received it as a gift about 5 Christmases ago and never used it. It has been patiently waiting in the attic. Dad helped Bill get the turkey into the hot oil.

It sure did bubble, but they were careful and there were no casualties.

I actually thought that perhaps the turkey was overdone because it was so brown and crispy. But it was VERY juicy and quite tasty.

Here we are getting ready to eat...minus Dad in this photo. We'll see Dad in another photo soon.

Dad had some help eating his dessert from Chelsea!

We also celebrated Daniel's 12th birthday while we had dessert.

Advent Calendars

Here are two Advent calendars that I just finished up this morning. I made three. I will be giving two of them away. I am happy with the results and now need to fill the little boxes.

Go Sarah!

We are so proud of Sarah. She was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society on Thursday night. She continues to amaze us with her incredible grades and her willingness to be in many extracurricular activities. She is a very focused young lady who loves to dance, play her flute in band, sing in the church choir, read, participate in the youth group and also the FISH group at school. Next year, high school is looming and we are sure she will continue to do a great job with her studies and remain involved in the activities that she enjoys.

A photo I like

No real reason to post this photo except that I was looking through my photos and this one caught my eye. It is my niece Ashley. I think we were celebrating her sister's birthday. Doesn't she look thrilled! LOL! She is usually all over the place. A typical 7 year old girl. She hops everywhere, is very loud and is a cutie!

Halloween

Well, since I can't write a long, wonderful blog post about going to game 6 of the World Series, I guess I will continue on with life and write about Halloween.
Daniel was disappointed in the morning that we had not carved a pumpkin, so I bought him a pumpkin on Friday at Publix. Luckily, I bought one of the last 5 they had in the store. When he got home from school, he was excited when he saw the pumpkin. He quickly got to work.
Sarah was going to a party, so she needed to get dressed fairly quickly and was out the door.
Here are a couple of photos from the night.

Go Rays!

Okay, tonight is the night. If they don't win tonight......it is all over. Well, at least for this year. It has been a lot of fun. I really would like the Rays to win tonight because Bill and I have the tickets for Game 6 on Wednesday night.
I decided that 'Scrappy' needed to get into the Rays fever so here she is.

It's Halloween Time

Sarah had the EDGE Halloween party on Friday night. She had thought up her costume at least two months ago. She won the prize for the most original costume at the party, too.
She walked around saying things like, "Wow! I say it louder" and "Surprise!!" or "Grrr! That's a cat!"
